As HIGH-TECH TENNIS Turns - August 25

Hi-thanks for reading! It's been another wonderful week in our world and we're happy to hit some of the highlights for you:

We spend so little time in the state where we live (what in the world is up with that?!?!?) so we were delighted to spend another week in Georgia! Not only that, we are well aware that any success we can hope to achieve depends in large part on wonderful relationships with people who GET IT. We owe sooo much to sooo many...This month has been ALL ABOUT GEORGIA and we've been happy to spend time with terrific tournament directors who GET IT.

Great thanks to PATRICK SHELL at the G12 Supernationals at Windward Lake Club in Alpharetta (8/7-13) and ZAMBIA BRYANT at the Savannah Junior Championships at L. Scott Stell Park in Savannah (8/14-15). This week, we added CRAIG JONES at the Idle Hour Junior Chps in Macon (8/21).

Now that August tournaments are over, you'd think we might be taking a little break...WRONG - now the real fun begins!! That's because at HIGH-TECH TENNIS, we're about more than tournaments...We've been THRILLED to launch the 2010 Windward Academy Video Sessions and we send great thanks to WILL WRIGHT and TORREY HAWKINS for being academy directors who GET IT.
We send great thanks to so many but our most special shoutout is to YOU, our customers...So many have you have also become our friends and that makes us SMILE. Your support means so much to us and we hope you always remember that our cameras will be looking out for YOU! :)

As HIGH-TECH TENNIS Turns - August 18

Hello-thanks for reading! It's been another wonderful week in our world...We're happy to hit some of the highlights for you:

We had such a great time at the wonderful Windward Lake Club for the G12 National Hard Court Chps (August 7-13)!!! We're ALWAYS proud to be a part of whatever's happening at Windward and this was no exception - the 3rd consecutive year was just as sweet as years 1 and 2! GREAT THANKS to every single person at Windward for making us feel sooo welcome - what a pleasure it is to be surrounded by people who GET IT. Oh and BIG THANKS to Lew Brewer, Director of Junior Competition for USTA Player Development for FINALLY taking a stand: "Any match in a public or private facility may be recorded." ENOUGH SAID.

Sometimes change is good and sometimes change is not so good. As the tournament at Windward wrapped up, we've gone directly to the "Little MO" Eastern Regionals for the past two years...UNFORTUNATELY for us (and maybe for others?), this tournament has been moved and it will alternate between two places that we will NOT be going - now or ever: IMG Academy in Bradenton and RCS in Norcross. Good luck, players...SORRY we'll miss you but it can't be helped.

So instead of the Little MO tournament, we kept the theme of this month (GA TOURNAMENTS) and we went to Savannah on Friday afternoon. We had a great time at the tournament there (Saturday and Sunday) but gosh, we were sooo hot and sooo tired...we didn't even take a single picture (unless you count a semi-lousy one of Danny in a Savannah bar on Sunday night). He'd be mad if I posted it here so I won't.

Now we're back and hard at work - you don't think those 100+ matches from the Alpharetta and Savannah tournaments magically get from our cameras to your DVD players, do you??? LOL. Thanks as always for the terrific support and our video cameras will be looking for YOU!  :)

As HIGH-TECH TENNIS Turns - August 11

Hello and thanks for reading! It's been another wonderful week in our world and we're happy to hit some of the highlights for you...

This week has been ALL ABOUT THE GIRLS...Twelve year old girls at the Super National Hard Court Championships, that is. We're honored to provide video services at this tournament for the third consecutive year and, AS ALWAYS, we are proud to be part of whatever they're doing at the wonderful Windward Lake Club in Alpharetta, GA. What a posh event - prestigious facility - topnotch tournament staff...From welcome parties to water parks, you better believe there are loads of players who'd LOVE to be part of this event - and they picked the TOP 128. What an honor for the lucky girls.

We saw old friends, met new ones, and just had a great time. And it ain't over yet...Tomorrow (Thursday, August 12th) is the SEMIS and Friday the 13th (uh-oh) is the FINALS. BTW, the pic at the top of this week's report is the USTA Dancer - a hilarious 10 year old from FL who couldn't stop doing the U-S-T-A dance (to the tune of Y-M-C-A, but of course she's never even heard of something as strange as The Village People), LOL.

We've talked about it for years and Danny finally purchased and began to wear a pedometer during the tournament - just for fun. However, I'm not sure how much FUN it is to know that he takes an average of 21,000 steps each day - which translates to 7 MILES. WHEW. As for me, well, I really don't want to talk about it, thanks. :0

Thanks for your amazing support, have a wonderful week, and remember: our cameras can't wait to see YOU! :)

As HIGH-TECH TENNIS Turns - August 4

Hello and thanks for reading! It's been another wonderful week in our world and we're happy to hit some of the highlights for you...As you can clearly see, we took a giant step awaaaaay from tennis this week - it brought back great memories of how much fun we had in our previous life!!!

We bought this waverunner in 1997 and way back in the old days (before HIGH-TECH TENNIS was born), we went out on the lake almost every single weekend. Since we lived in Cobb, we normally went to Lake Allatoona but this waverunner has been to other exciting spots, like Key West and Marco Island. It brought so much wet, wonderful fun to our lives.......YAY-we both loved it!!! :)

But life happens and things change. While we've been trying to survive this rough economy and we've been obsessed with creating HIGH-TECH TENNIS out of thin, thin air - leaving us with ZERO time for anything else - our beautiful waverunner has been stored on the side of our beautiful house...OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND. :( We almost forgot all the goooood times that were hidden beneath 4 years of bushes, bugs, and general ICK. Thankfully, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Though we've gained some pounds and lost some hair (LOL), the waverunner emerged as gooood as new (after some soap, water, and serious scrubbing)! :) Great thanks to my wonderful Buddy for giving in to my near-constant whining ("Please let's go on the waverunner - please, please, please?!?") and to the wonderful LAKE GIRL for the water hookup/generous hospitality. The outing was a HUUUGE SUCCESS-we won't wait another 4 years to repeat it. :))

Time to get back to work...We're excited about our 3rd consecutive year at the G12 Super National Hard Court Chps at the beautiful Windward Lake Club in Alpharetta - they know how to run a tournament and the lucky girls will have the time of their lives! Thanks for your amazing support and have a great week!!! :)
