As HIGH-TECH TENNIS Turns - June 29

Welcome to your weekly installment of tales from our exciting life! It's been a wonderful week...Betcha think we're all about tournaments, right? Guess again! The theme of this week (actually this month) has been TENNIS CAMPS!!!

For instance, we've been capturing cuuuute videos of cuuuute campers at Emory every week during the month of June so last Thursday was the end of this summer season...For the 4th consecutive year, Women's Tennis Coach Amy Bryant is terrific cuz she really thinks outside the box...The 6 year olds are THRILLED with the notion of starring in their own tennis videos - and the older kids really like the idea of using the video to improve their skills. We LOVE Emory - and it doesn't hurt that it's walking distance from our home sweeeeet home. :)

We actually took the weekend OFF (if you consider burning Match Play DVDs and coordinating upcoming events taking time OFF, lol) and then Danny met with one of our favorite coaches on the planet yesterday to capture some content for college recruit videos. Torrey Hawkins has been one of our earliest fans and he's a coach who GETS IT. Not only is Torrey a great coach, he's a GREAT PERSON. Stop and think about how many hours your child will spend around his or her coach. Think about how much influence that coach will have...That's why I think it's soooo important to be sure your coach has ethics and integrity and GOOD CHARACTER..but then again, nobody asked me...LOL.
Since we're best friends with Coach Manny Diaz, LOL, we were excited to return to the Bulldog Tennis Camp again today for the 2nd consecutive week. Just like we did last week, we recorded video content for every single camper and it was 100 degrees in the shade...WOW WOW WOW. I came home and went straight to naptime........Don't forget to check back next week for another thrilling report from our exciting life. As always, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT - it means more than you can possibly know!!!

As HIGH-TECH TENNIS Turns - June 23

Welcome to your weekly installment of tales from our exciting life! It's been a wonderful week - more like a whirlwind - and I betcha it'll make you tired just reading about it, lol.

Fortunately for ALL, we left behind the negative, bad news vibe of the Florida Section and we're thrilled to be back in the Southern Section (where we belong) so there'll be no griping and complaining in this week's report! We prepared some (but certainly not all) of the videos for the FL tournament on Wednesday, recorded cuuute videos for cuuute campers at Emory Total Tennis Camp on Thursday, dropped then off on Friday as we traveled to the Southern Closed TENS in Columbia, SC. We spent four full, hot and I do mean H-O-T but fun days there with sweet little ten and under players. This has probably been my favorite tournament of all but it's all over now-it'll be Quick Start next year, a totally different ballgame...Anyway, for some extra fun (and since mothers get all the glory), we recorded Father's Day Greetings From Your Daughters and From Your Sons - what a blast!!! :)

We even met a 4 yr old breakdancer (he was awesome), wrapped up semis/finals matches on Tuesday, and traveled to Athens, GA. We were THRILLED with our first opportunity and had a FANTASTIC time capturing videos for 78 - yes, that's SEVENTY-EIGHT - Bulldog Tennis Campers this morning and now we're hoooome, sweeeeet, hoooome...There's NO PLACE like home and that's a fact.

Whew.......What a gooooooood week. Hope the same is true for YOU and thanks AS ALWAYS for your incredible support. Check back next week for another exciting report, lol. :) As for me, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

As HIGH-TECH TENNIS Turns - June 16

Welcome to your weekly installment of tales from our exciting life! It's been a wonderful week but I just cannot tell you how glad I am that we don't live in Florida. We were so happy to return to the FL State Closed BG10-12 tournament in Altamonte Springs (metro Orlando area) for the 2nd consecutive year and we were really hoping that the psycho tennis parent behavior could be kept to an absolute mininum. We will never forget last year's "lowlight" when the tournament director had to threaten to call the police to handle the tension between two MOTHERS. That's right, these were actually women who lost their minds (while I can't tell you how many young children were present to watch it all - they just stared and learned - HOW SAD).

We actually had our own extremely negative experience with one of the women about a year prior - and we know that she also acted like a perfect @&& at the G12 Supernational tournament last year. Well, we thought we were in the clear when we learned that she's since been banned from attending USTA junior tournaments in Florida. But neverfear, two fathers win this year's "prize". One father demanded that we not record his 10 year old DIVA (even though her opponent had requested and paid for the match 24 hours prior). And then another father threatened a lawsuit if the father of his 12 year old daughter's opponent did not take his camera down. #%!!#%@_*&#^#^%

As if that wasn't bad enough, it would soon get worse: The most PATHETIC part about it all happened when USTA Florida caved in to that unreasonable behavior. The vast majority of people LOVE our videos (which are clearly for training and keepsake purposes) but they won't be able to purchase them in Florida if their opponent's parent behaves like a jerk. What a LOUSY DECISION and I am sooo glad we only travel to Florida about twice a year. In fact, we may rethink that.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and you've just heard mine. Clearly, I feel very strongly about it and this REALLY bothers me. Thanks to all the nice people we met but I'm just soo glad to be back in the Southern Section. Have a goooood week and don't forget to check back next Wednesday for your next report. I promise it'll be more positive than this week's installment.

As HIGH-TECH TENNIS Turns - June 9

Welcome to your weekly installment of tales from our exciting life! Not sure how many people actually read this (LOLOL) but it's been a wonderful week and we want the whole world to know it! :)

We kicked off the month of June with some fun, FUN stuff last week, which was wonderful. Great thanks to Coach Bryan Shepherd (Mountain Park), Coach Fred Myles (Sugar Creek), and Coach Craig Jones (Idle Hour) who GET IT. What a pleasure it is to be around people like that. Best of all, it was (mostly) all in town so we did not have to travel and we got to spend time in this wonderful place called HOME SWEEEEET HOME. Be it ever so humble - you know what they say about it - and it's TRUE.

The weather caused the cancellation of our planned Tennis Block Party event on Sunday, which meant we had no choice but to take the day OFF. Might have been just what we needed. :) Now we've been prepping for summer tennis camp events this week and then we leave on Friday AM for about 10+ days on the road...yay yayy. The FL State Closed BG10-12s in Altamonte Springs, FL was a little different but nice last year so we thought we'd give it another try. At 7 plus hours, it definitely won't be our favorite tournament spot on this earth but let's give it another try before we make a final decision. After we FINALLY got there, they were certainly very nice to us - we'll see what happens this weekend. WISH US LUCK and please - keep the psycho tennis parent activity to an absolute minimum or we might have to drop this event from our schedule for good.

Have a wonderful week and don't forget to check back NEXT Wednesday to see what new and interesting things we've got to say...AS IF, LOLOLOL. :) THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

As HIGH-TECH TENNIS Turns - June 2

Welcome to your weekly installment of tales from our exciting life! It's been a wonderful week and we've had MUCHO to keep us busy as we wrapped up the BUSIEST month in the history of HIGH-TECH TENNIS! :)

We prepared and distributed each of the 30+ Match Play DVDs from the National Open 14s on May 27th (keep in mind that the tournament ended on May 26th!!!) and then we hit the road again on May 28th since we'd been INVITED (ahem) to bring our amazing video services to a tournament in a very new and very exciting place: SAVANNAH!!!

And let me just say WOW - what a pleasure that was! We were brand new to 95% of the players/parents, they were sooo appreciative that we'd made the effort to be there, and they treated us just like gold. What a great vibe and a great experience...one that we hope to repeat as early as August. A special SHOUT-OUT to Tournament Director Miss Zambia - thank you for all that you did for us. :) In addition to the tournament vibe being sooo overwhelmingly positive, Savannah is an amazing location (Mobile, Dothan, Macon...not so much). We had a marvelous time and returned mid-afternoon on May 31st for some serious R&R (D to the recliner, me to my heavenly hammock) for instant zzzzzzz

On June 1st, we recorded some video for our friend JAMIE HAMPTON to give her the edge she's looking for as she prepares for the Pro Circuit event in El Paso, TX this weekend (GOOD LUCK, JAMIE) - and oh, yeah, we celebrated my birthday. GEMINIS RULE HIGH-TECH TENNIS. Then we kicked off the summer camp/clinic season by recording stroke analysis videos for every single camper at Bryan Shepherd's Swing Into Summer Tennis Camp in Lilburn, GA this morning. NICE!!! The only non-wonderful thing that happened this week is that my champion didn't win...Love the FED - long live the FED. THANKS for great support everybody and CHEERS 2 U.
